My laptop stops at startup?

well i have a lg x110 netbook that i have had for a year and a half now and its messed up now and i dont know why. As soon as i turn it on it loads then goes to the screen saying what you want to load like windows xp well i click enter on windows xp and it just goes black it doesnt show that loading screen or anything. the power light is working and the backlight is also working. I tried unplugging the battery and pressing a certain key and stuff like that but it doesn’t work please help. Oh and i dont have the disk to restart my computer cause it broke and even if i had one i cant delete everything because i have a lot of important stuff on there. So please can you help me it would be greatly appreciated
I have also tried all boot up options and none of them work
I have a netbook so i cant take out the harddrive

Hello:

I would highly recommend you back up the files on your hard drive and then reformat your hard drive. If the reformat doesn’t work, then you have a bad/loose hard drive. To back up your files since you can’t get past the loading screen, you want to use a device known as an IDE/SATA to USB Adapter (google “BT-300 topmicrousa”). Once you’ve backed up your files, reformat and follow the instructions above.
