So far so good

| Just got it today. It is pinker than it seems in the picture (I thought it looked sort of lavender). It's nice and tiny and light. The battery helps position the computer so that it sits up off the work surface and can breathe. The Windows 7 thing seems to be great so far: a lot better than Windows Vista. I'm not sure if it says anywhere in the description, but it comes with Word installed, which makes my life as a student much easier. I'm not a computer expert by any means, but from what I can tell, this easily will serve its purpose as an extra machine to take notes on and take to the library. It's very quick on the Internet, as well. A great deal for the money...as far as I can see. |
Brilliant

| Typical IBM/Lenovo product. Reliable, compact , well designed and the installed face recognition software is a definite bonus which has saved you money straight away. head and shoulders above other netbooks that I have had. |
No regrets.

From my internet gleaning of other netbooks available for purchase, this baby provides the most bang for your buck if you are price-conscious.
For those of you who are not as computer-savvy, this laptop will meet your most pressing needs: internet, email, music, picture storage and letter or essay writing.
For those of you who are more technically advanced and want some more nitty gritty information about the system specs: Intel Atom 1.6 Ghz CPU and 1 GB of ram is adequate to run Windows 7 smoothly. The only hiccups I've seen thus far in my use is when I was using two Windows Gadgets to stream live feed of television channels while I was also on YouTube. Other than that, it handles quite nicely and I rarely if ever feel that the machine is underpowered to run multiple tasks at once.
Windows 7 is a nice surprise. As with all things Windows, the OP requires you to make some adjustments on it so that it is more suited to your taste: I changed the font heading and micromanaged the Systems Manager to my liking. However, the OP is less intrusive than XP.
As for the netbook hardware itself, Lenovo has a built in button near the top of the keyboard called "QS" that you can set-up to start any Windows program: I have mine set to Firefox. I thought that was a nice idea.
But the best thing this little gem has going for it is the price. At $289.99, you won't find a cheaper netbook on the market with as much firepower. And it kind of baffles me that the Acer model netbooks, which have exactly the same system specs and operating system, are priced at $100 more. Also, it is strange to me that Lenovo would price other S-10 netbooks with the same specs at nearly $50 more just because there is a "Nature" or "Floral" artwork on the top of the netbook itself. Strange.
I wanted the "Nature" themed S-10 Lenono netbook, but, as you can probably tell, the $50 increase in price for mere aesthetic differences deterred me from that choice. |
I Love It!!!

| I am more than satisfied with this product. It does everything it is supposed to do. There are a few things I dont like though... Office is a 60 day trial as is McAfee...and i am not getting 6 hrs out of the battery, more like 4. But, this is a good little computer. |

Windows 7. Brand new. The verdict isn't in yet. Now it's a "wait & see" game of which problems will come up & what fixes will be released.
For me, this little computer is perfect because of the size. It does not have a CD/DVD drive, so I use an external. Both the computer & the drive fit right into a pistol case. I would suggest upgrading the memory.
