Hard Drive upgrade help…?

Hi all. I’m getting signs that the hard drive to this netbook is gonna pack in soon. I’m getting all the common signs (crashes, slow reading/writing etc.). So I was wondering, if I get a new Hard Drive for this, how will I install a new OS on it? As this model doesn’t have a disc drive (MSI Wind U130). And also, how can I back up my current drivers? Thanks

Your netbook has an Solid State drive.
You can install a normal 5400rpm servo drive in it’s place. The dimensions are identical.
You can use a bootable CD (or Bootable USB drive) with Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image to save a sector-by-sector image backup of the original drive.
Once you are done, send the SS drive to MSI support for replacement.
You can deploy the original image on the mechanical drive and when your new SS drive arrives just repeat the cloning procedure.
All of these imaging programs are very simple to run. All you gotta do is, pay attention at choosing the correct drive when you select “source” and “target” disks.
